Existing separately from the theatre school, the dance school is located in the Hardman Centre site and has been providing children and young people with first class dance instruction for over 50 years.
Taking on pupils from the age of 3 years and up, the school is committed to providing our pupils with a comprehensive grounding in the art of dance. We believe you’re never too young to start building on your natural talent – one of the reasons we take on pupils of such a young age.
The school is a member of the Royal Academy of Dancing and the International Dance Teachers Association – guaranteeing our professionalism and expertise when it comes to the quality of our teaching.
We offer the following types of dance classes:
- Ballet
- Tap
- Freestyle (including disco and hip hop)
- Jazz
We will also tutor the pupils in a range of other theatrecraft skills and hold holiday workshops and summer schools to ensure that all students get the opportunity to keep improving themselves and building on their abilities.
There are also adult tap classes available for those who might have missed their chance in their youth to dance but would now like to make up for lost time.
For those who wish to, we hold examinations in all types of dance and such is the standard of the tutelage that we now have an enviable reputation for continuously achieving 100% pass marks.
The Eve Trew School of Dancing like the C.A.T.S. Theatre School have always believed in giving pupils the chance to appear on stage and regular performances are arranged each year. Although taken seriously, these occasions are also fun events and help to raise money for local charities and are hugely enjoyed by parents, relatives and friends alike.
